What Is ADHD?
ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
It typically affects school aged children of about 3% to 5% of the population.
It is also referred to as hyperactivity
Common symptoms are:
- Inattention
- Disruptive Behaviour
- Restlessness
- Feverish Excitement
- Screaming Fits
- Hysteria
- Impulsivity
- Hyperactivity
- Emotional problems
- Lack of social skills
- Learning disabilities
ADHD symptoms typically appear before five years of age.
Boys are more affected than girls, 40% of cases of ADHD are grown out of by puberty.
Sometimes, ADHD symptoms do continue into adolescence and adulthood causing problems such as:
- Bad Concentration
- Insomnia
- Excessive Thirst
What Is Salicylate?
Salicylate is a chemical which is well known for being present in aspirin.
Salicylate is also present naturally in certain foods.
Salicylate is believed to be one cause of ADHD symptoms and it is for this reason that many ADHD diets eliminate or restrict the intake of foods containing salicylate.
What Foods Contain Salicylate?
