As director of the GI Oncology Program at the University of Florida, he helps to oversee the treatment of all patients with GI malignancies and the development and testing of new cancer treatments through clinical trials leveraging advancements in precision oncology and immunotherapy. His extensive experience, encompassing over 25 years in Hemato-oncologic care, brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and compassionate care to his patients and their families. He earned his medical degree from the University of Florida in 1998 and completed an internship at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in 1999. He is Board Certified in Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. George's care philosophy emphasizes a collaborative approach, incorporating the latest advancements in cancer research and personalized treatment plans, while acknowledging the emotional and practical needs of each patient. He previously served in key advisory roles, including the Medical Advisory Board to the State of Florida Department of Health and the Screen for Life Colorectal Cancer Screening Program. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of the UF Health Cancer Center and maintains active involvement in numerous cancer research groups and clinical trials.
