Dr. Thomas is board-certified in medical oncology, internal medicine, and hematology, and brings a wealth of experience to our Southside location. Originally from India and born into a family of physicians, Dr. Thomas received both his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery and Doctor of Medicine from Madras Medical College in Chennai. His journey to oncology was deeply personal, inspired by the compassionate care he witnessed during his father's treatment for metastatic prostate cancer. This experience fueled his desire to provide the same level of expertise and empathy to his patients. His commitment to evidence-based medicine, patient education, and collaborative decision-making, combined with a supportive and reassuring approach, creates a positive and healing environment for all. He earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College, completed an internship at Brooklyn Hospital Center - Downtown Campus, and subsequently pursued residency training in Hematology-Oncology at NYU Winthrop, followed by fellowship training at Winthrop University Hospital. Dr. Thomas is Board Certified in Hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and Board Certified in Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
